There are many ways in which parents/guardians can become involved with our school.
As well as the P&C and tuckshop there are other committees such as:
HEALTH PROMOTING SCHOOLS
As a HPS, Smithfield aims to optimize the opportunity to students and staff and improve health outcomes for the school environment.
The HPS Committee comprises of support staff, teachers, parents, local health workers and students. Current projects include a school Mental Health Curriculum audit, improving the condition of the student toilets and 'NO Tobacco Day' promotion. Meetings are held once per term from 5 pm to 7 pm with meeting dates being advertised in the School Newsletter. New members are always welcome. If you would like more information please contact Sharon Jones. Speak Up - Speak Out (Bullying Policy) INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC The Instrumental Music Parent Support Committee welcomes any interested parents to partake in meetings. The committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month and is held in Q Block Staff room. Meetings commence after Concert Band rehearsals at 5.15 pm.
The committee is run by energetic parents of our young musicians and facilitate in helping the Instrumental Music Teachers organise concerts and other events held throughout the year. If you might be available to help please contact Jason Fox. STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES READING VOLUNTEERS: Learning Support Services require volunteers to assist with our reading program.
