OVERVIEW
The science department prides itself on offering engaging and innovative programs that are suitable for learners of all levels. All senior science subjects now have “extended experimental investigations” (EEIs) as a major part of the courses and assessment. We have embraced this, and have developed EEIs for our junior courses. This prepares our academic students for success in their senior studies as well as providing activities that develop students of all ability level. Starting in the junior classes the students now get to undertake some great projects, such as developing sherbet in Chemistry, wiring houses in physics, designing cool houses for the tropics in earth science and growing fast growing plants in biology. To assist all students in reaching their potential overall grades are awarded based on a combination of exam and EEI performance.
