Late last term the Year 11 and 12 Legal Studies Students competed in the Business Liaison Association Mock Court Competition at Cairns Courthouse.
Students were coached by real barristers on the processes and protocols in participating in criminal trials. Following this training students were asked to participate in a Mock Court against other schools in the region.
Our students proved they were outstanding lawyers winning their court cases and placing second overall in the region. Well done to Legal Studies teacher Ms McCloskey who spent many hours coaching our students to this success. This is just another way we are providing real world education to our students at Smithfield High School.
