At Smithfield State High School we are currently running an extracurricular club call the Internet of Things (IoT) Club, in the Makerspace area. This is a great opportunity for students to collaborate with younger and older students.

  • Code
  • Make Robots
  • Participate in competitions
  • Make an play their own games
  • Use Virtual Reality
  • Learn to solder

and above all else have fun!

With IoT being a degree at James Cook University we are honoured to have their expert, Dr Jason Holdsworth, and some of his best students attending our Makerspace IoT Club. They will work with our aspiring IoT students to enhance their practical skills in the above agendas.

The IoT Club start at 2.30 pm sharp every Monday afternoon in the Makerspace room and finishes at 3.30 pm.
