Philosophy of the extra-curricular sporting program

The extra-curricular sporting program aims to provide a plethora of sporting opportunities for our students to be involved in. The sporting ethos of our coaches allows the students to become involved in sports to further develop their physical skill and sporting prowess in a competitive environment, engage in inter school competitions, foster competitive drive and continue to enhance their social development. Our school prides itself on ensuring that all students embrace sportsmanship at the highest level.

Smithfield State High School is fortunate enough to have a number of staff who have experience in a wide variety of sports and are therefore able to provide a high level of coaching in the lead up to any inter school competition.

Sports regularly offered

  • AFL boys and girls
  • Futsal boys and girls
  • Rugby League boys and girls
  • Rugby Union
  • Soccer boys and girls
  • Netball

These sports are an example of the extra sports on offer to students external from the in school sporting competitions. Smithfield looks to engage in sporting opportunities regularly and enjoys the flexibility of being able to engage in sports of popular student demand.
