Great Barrier Reef so if you are interested in water sports such as diving and
snorkelling, this is the place for you.
Cairns is also situated close to tropical
rainforest and pristine beaches and is known as being where 'the rainforest
meets the sea".

Smithfield State High School is only 15 minutes from Cairns
City which is accessible via public transport. It is in the middle of the
popular Northern Beaches area. Most of our homestay families live out in the
beach suburbs and so access to the beaches is just minutes away.
The school is easily accessible from your
homestay by public transport, bicycle and by walking.
