Smithfield State High School provides academic reports for Years 7 – 10 to parents/caregivers by email four times per year. These reports are as follows:
- Mid Semester 1 – Progress report
- Semester 1 – first formal academic report of the year
- Mid Semester 2 – Progress report
- Semester 2 – second formal academic report of the year
Academic reports for Years 11 and 12 are provided by email at the following times:
- Unit 1 Progress Report (for Year 11 students – Mid Semester 1)
- Unit 3 Progress Report (for Year 12 students – Mid Semester 1)
- Unit 1 Report (for Year 11 students – formal academic report – Semester 1)
- Unit 3 Progress Report (for Year 12 students – Semester 1)
- Unit 4 Progress Report (for year 12 students – Mid Semester 2)
- Unit 2 Report (for Year 11 students– formal academic report – Semester 2)
- Unit 3 & 4 Progress Report (for year 12 international students only)
Formal academic reporting is a legislative requirement and provides students and parents specific levels of achievement for the corresponding academic period.
Progress reports are a school endorsed process issued to provide students, parents and teachers the opportunity for rich discussion about a students' academic progress and areas for celebration, growth and improvement.
At the beginning of Terms 2 and 3, the school holds Student Progress Conferences from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm, where parents/caregivers and student can meet with their teachers. Bookings are made through the on-line booking site School Online Booking System (SOBS). Information on how to make bookings will be emailed to you in the last week of Terms 1 and 2.
